Charles Huff, Architect

Celebrating 30 years of architectural design
CHA was founded by Charles Huff in 1980 in Pleasanton, CA. Charles received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1972 from the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and did his graduate work in urban design at UCLA.

Charles Huff Architect specializes in custom homes, residential additions, remodels, historic restorations, commercial buildings and tenant improvement projects. To date, we have completed more than 2,000 projects in the Bay Area, including more than a thousand in Pleasanton alone. Examples of our projects can be found in virtually every subdivision in Pleasanton and scattered throughout Livermore, San Ramon and the East Bay Area.

Charles has lived in Pleasanton since 1980. He has served on the Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society board of directors since the mid-80's, has served on the Pleasanton North Rotary board of directors and currently serves on the Valley Community Bank advisory board, as well as the Pleasanton Downtown Association Design Review Committee.  He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, and has been a track and field coach for CYO and Amador Valley High School teams.

Charles' interest in local history began when he became involved with historical restoration projects. What started as a hobby has led to an avocation. His research resources include old newspapers, Sanborn Fire maps, local census data and local history books.  Charles has led many tours of downtown Pleasanton, written numerous articles for local publications and is often called upon as Pleasanton's local historian to recount the rich history of the valley.
