Dr. Robert Cooper has been a licensed clinical psychologist working in Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley area for close to 30 years.A graduate of U.C. Berkeley, San Francisco State, and Alliant University, he has worked as a Clinical Examiner for the Department of Social Services, Disability Evaluation Division, managed the Psychological and Counseling Services division of a local community mental health organization, and been in private professional practice for many years.
He specializes in Forensic psychology, testing and assessment, as well as the psychotherapy of anxiety, anger, and mood disorders. He has worked as an employee assistance professional for the National Football League and many national insurance companies, as well as local businesses.
He is especially interested in the collaborative medical treatment of pain disorders and assisting both individuals and families making healthy adjustments to the trauma often involved in disabling chronic pain conditions. Additionally, he is experienced in the treatment of drug and alcohol addictions and Dual Diagnostic issues. He is a member of the American Psychological Association as well as the Alameda County Psychological Association.
